Make It Monday #147

(click on picture for better viewing)

**The Squirrel and The Fox DT project HERE**

Hello and welcome!

A new linky party is open at Make It Monday and we have a new DT member to announce. Yay! Michelle invited the talented Kerry Hocking to replace Meihsia who stepped down a few weeks ago. I'm so excited to welcome Kerry aboard and I can't wait to share this creative journey with her!

Our current sponsor is Saturated Canary and I'm using Winnie Goes Camping on my mixed media art journal page. Needless to say I love Krista's images and this set is great for building a scene because you receive three images (Winnie, vintage camper and campsite sign) to play with. It reminded me of all the camping adventures in my early childhood. We had a Chinook camper and our campground was the great outdoors in Alaska. I'll never forget the trip when my oldest sister rolled down the side of a mountain. It wasn't a rocky mountain otherwise it could have been disastrous. She was bruised and sore for a while but thankfully okay. She certainly scared the dickens out of everyone!

My forest was created with this fun little die.

My Pick of the Week (with a slight twist) is...

I love this carousel!!! She mentioned in her post that she had trouble following the directions so instead of quitting she simply figured it out on her own. Way to go Loz, the pay off is this amazing paper project. Now for the twist, I also chose two other amazing projects to highlight as my POTW and they just happen to be by the very crafty Loz as well. Take a look at these...

entry #2 which she made for her fur baby :)

and last but not least is entry #11 with her awesome Chair Step card.

Thanks for always playing along at MIM and for sharing your inspiration Loz!

The Squirrel and The Fox #47

Christmas in July

Surprise! That's our new challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox for the next two weeks. It's time to get out your Christmas paper, embellishments, stamps, ink etc. and join us. My goal is to make some of my Christmas gift projects plus a few cards in July so I'll be ahead instead of lagging behind as usual during the holiday season. If the last half of this year is like the first half then I'm going to need all the help and time I can get.

My card features an adorable image from our current sponsor, The Paper Shelter, called Santa's Cute Helper. I love her and I dressed her in blue because this card is going to "a girl" who happens to love blue. She also loves to ski which is the reason I incorporated a few ski tickets (yes, I do realize my image is sledding, not skiing lol).

Be sure to check out the wonderful inspiration by my teamies by clicking HERE or on their links in my right sidebar. Also if you are looking for Christmas images you will love the selection at The Paper Shelter

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge #104

Hi all! I have been a bit scarce this month and I apologize for not commenting and stopping by in a timely manner. Things have been hectic to say the least in our world. Enough of my trials though, we have a brand new challenge at TTT and for the next two weeks we want to see Office Supplies on your entries. Anything you would use in an office (i.e. paper clips, staples, pens, pencils, paper, etc.) will do.

My card features the Freshman Digi Image by our current sponsor Kenny K. I love how detailed his images are and this card is for my daughter who will be a freshman in college this fall. I included a paper clip, hinge on my die cut clipboard and staples. I used stickers which is something I normally do not do but they work on this card. The typewriter is a nod to my daughter's love of antique typewriters and the fact that she wants to become a journalist and author after she graduates in 2017.

A big thank you to Kenny K for supplying the DT with images to create with! Be sure to check out what the design team created to inspire you by clicking HERE or you can click their links on my right sidebar.

Hope you'll play along with this fun challenge! Thanks for dropping by today and with any luck I'll be by to visit soon. Until then please know how much your support means to me. :)

It features Gus Birthday - Recount and it's colored with Copic markers. I hope he likes it! The entries last week were amazing and it makes it so hard to choose only one Pick of the Week but here's my choice.

The Squirrel and The Fox Challenge #46

The new challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox is to Use Something Metal on your card/project. Before I go any further though I have some news, our teamie Lynne stepped down and Linda and Tracey added three new members to our design team, Angie, Denise, and Samantha. I wish Lynne the best and welcome my three new teamies to TSTF!

For the metal element on my card I used a crown on my bluejay which was provided by our current sponsor, Beary Wishes. You can find this beautiful image HERE in the online store. There's no sentiment on this card because it's an all occasion card. Good to have a few of those on hand. ;)

Make It Monday #144 with Nicecrane Designs

Before we kick off another linky party at Make It Monday I want to take a moment to say farewell to Meihsia Liu who is stepping down as a DT member. She has been a constant source of inspiration to me throughout the past year. Best of luck Meihsia in all of your crafty endeavors!

We're sponsored this week by the talented Ignacio of Nicecrane Designs. I am using a vintage image -Sugar and Spice 3 that you'll find in his online store. Here's a look at the preview sheet-Sugar and Spice DSL I where I found this beautiful image of two sisters to use on my thank you card.

My Pick's of the Week are...
(that's right, two choices this week)

I love her stamped background and colored image. Terrific pocket card Sonja!

and

#140 Linda B and Katie ;)

I love this project for so many reasons. First, it is beautiful (click her link to see the back side and more pictures) and the papers and embellishments are gorgeous. :) Second, this is what I call a "forever" project. Linda was visiting her nearly ten year old granddaughter, Katie, and shared her love of design and paper crafting with her. This project and the time spent with her grandma will be something Katie will remember and cherish forever, Linda too I'm sure. ;)

Thanks for sharing your talent ladies with all of us at Make It Monday!

I encourage you to drop by the DT's blogs for more inspiration featuring images from Nicecrane Designs. You can click their links on my right sidebar or by clicking HERE.

Make It Monday #143 with Kenny K

A new linky party is OPEN at Make It Monday!

This is one of those rare DT posts where I am not using a sponsor image. I wanted to share a card I made for my darling daughter's graduation. On the 21st of May she graduated high school with honors. Naturally we are very proud parents but to be honest, I am proud of this young woman every day of her life. She constantly amazes me! With her graduation though I get to hang up one of my hats, home school mom, permanently. I home schooled my son for 8 years and Sara from K-12. It is a huge responsibility and not one that I took lightly. All the hard work paid off though and when she scored a 28 on her ACT we both knew it. My advice to any home school parent or student is to never give up. Hang in there and see it to completion, you'll be glad you did. :)

Congratulations to all graduates everywhere!!!

Pick of the Week is...

#145 Caroline KISS

I love the sequins, this cheeky gal and the fab sentiment she used. It gave me a chuckle!
Thanks Caroline for sharing your talent with us at Make It Monday. :)

By the time this post goes live I will be celebrating my daughter's high school graduation, my son's US Army Advanced Individual Training graduation and my 49th birthday which is the 3rd. The best part is that we are together again as a family. :)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic week! Have I mentioned lately that I'm a very lucky girl, well I am and I'm so grateful to the One who makes it all possible.

Hugs,
Lisa xx
