The Squirrel and The Fox #49

Nautical or Sea Life

That's our new challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox and I'm using a nautical image from our sponsor Oak Pond Creations. I did not add a sentiment because I'll save this one in my stash for the next time I need a masculine card. Hence, I kept it pretty CAS and chose to add a bit of drama with my embossed background, stamped text, and by adding dimension. I printed the image out twice and cut the anchor out and adhered it to the panel, next I cut from the second image the rope and conch shell. I paper pieced the rope after coloring it to add depth and popped the shell up on 3D foam dots. A ribbon banner was created with a Spellbinders banner die which I die cut twice to give me the length I needed for this card. The embossed background was highlighted with antique linen distress ink and pearls accent the corners.

Top Tip Tuesday #106

Welcome!

Our new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday is Spooled Items. I created a set of Christmas place cards using this fun digi, Snowman Topper, from our sponsor Bugaboo Stamps. These will look festive on my dinner table Christmas day. Each image was colored with Copic markers and a die cut holographic snowflake provides the perfect backdrop. I used a lollipop stick to anchor my place card in the center of the spools which are painted in Christmas colors and wrapped in twine. A fun project that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Here's my tip:
Coloring each image the same makes it easier to mass produce.

Prize is 7 digi's of winner's choice.

Prize is 5 digi's of winner's choice.

Make It Monday #150 with LOTV

Front Cover of Mini Album designed by my DD, Sara S.

Welcome to the new linky party that just opened at Make It Monday.

As you know this challenge blog allows new or old paper creations and I'm adding one more twist this week. The design team was free to create anything they wanted using any image but I've chosen instead to share a project that's close to my heart. My DD altered a Melissa Frances envelope album for my birthday last month and I'd like to share it with all of you today. She's our baby and next month she leaves home for college and a brand new chapter begins in her life. Not one to let important moments pass her by she created keepsake gifts for Mother's Day and my birthday this year. I can't tell you as a mom what these precious treasures mean to me. :)

She used some of my favorite papers, beautiful trim, lots of metal elements and stick pins to accent the pages. I'll use it to store letters, photos and mementos of our family and she also chose to leave some of the pages where I can personalize them if I want to. Each page was sanded, distressed with a distressing tool, then further distressed with distress ink to give it that vintage feel I love.

Resin bird is by Melissa Frances.

A pocket for treasures, love the vintage pin and hand stitching.

Back Cover

I love the shabby chic feel of this album mixed with her metal elements. :)
Thank You Sara!

Now it's time for my POTW choice which is...

Pick of the Week

Her colored image and color choices are gorgeous. Such a pretty card!!!
Thanks for sharing your talent with us Tracey at MIM.

Make It Monday #149 with Bugaboo Stamps

Welcome!

A new linky party is OPEN at Make It Monday and old or new paper creations are welcome. Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and I opted to make a Christmas card using Snow Globe-Reindeer Silhouette because my DD adores snow globes. She's not one for fuss so I kept the design CAS. A snowy touch was added with the pom pom trim, reminds me of snow balls, and the  embossed Lacey Squares panel which mimics falling snow. Each layer (except the image) was popped up on 3D foam dots for some dimension.

The DT used a variety of Bugaboo images so be sure to check out their amazing inspiration HERE or click their links on my right sidebar.

The Squirrel and The Fox #48

We have a brand new challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox and it's Something Spooled. Use twine, ribbon, trim or anything else that can be spooled and you are good to go. The lovely teacup on my card is from our current sponsor, Robyn's Fetish, and you can purchase it here. For my spooled items I used crochet trim and natural twine. My teamies have more inspiration to get your mojo going so click their links on my right sidebar or visit the challenge blog.

Make It Monday #148

A new linky party at Make It Monday is officially open and our lovely sponsor this week is Milk Coffee. I love their digi's so I was excited to see them as an upcoming sponsor a few weeks ago. I'm using Lady with Antique Bicycle on my Asian inspired card. Some of you may recognize that I added stickers to my frame. Totally not the norm for me but this makes twice in less than a month. Hmmm...
