Make It Monday #160

Spunky the Mouse goes to the carnival.

Hi everyone!!!

It's time to kick off a new linky party at Make It Monday! I had a blast coloring my image from our current sponsor, Stamp Art Design by Kathryne. His name is Spunky and he's the only mouse I would consider adorable. ;) He's off to the carnival where he received birthday balloons upon his arrival and now he's checking the map to see where the fun times begin. :-)

Vintage Halloween Treat Cone

Hello and Welcome!!!

I'm sharing a wonderful Halloween project today that is super easy to put together and is loads of fun to decorate! The talented Ignacio of Nicecrane Designs designed this Vintage Halloween Treat Cone which has multiple uses. You can hang these on a Halloween tree as ornaments, place candy in them for special trick or treaters or you can use them to jazz up your Halloween party table. Each cone prints on a 8.5 x 11" sheet in color and you also receive with this download three labels which can be used on candy jars or as a gift tag perhaps. You can see them below in the preview sheet by Nicecrane Designs.

More close ups of my decorated Vintage Halloween Treat Cone.

Ignacio included cut lines so you know exactly where to fold each side. Here's how I assembled my Vintage Halloween Treat Cone. I used a paper trimmer and trimmed the sides (watch for the gray tab which is attached to one side, you need it to attach your cone so do not cut if off). On the larger ends I left 1/8th of an inch to see where the fold lines were and then I grabbed my Scor Pal and using the score lines I scored my cone. It gives your treat cone nice clean lines and double stick tape was used to join the gray tab to the cone. Now for the fun part which is decorating these. I used black lace trim for the top because they happen to be for two special girls I know. :-) More ideas would be to punch a paper border, use ribbon, metal embellishments or buttons. I added orange trim to two sides and adhered with paper glue and orange tinsel created a nifty handle for my cone.

Best of all, Ignacio created another cone, Vintage Halloween Treat Cone II, which I will be sharing next week. Here's the preview sheet in case you are a bit curious to see it. ;)
{I love this one too!}

Make It Monday #159

Hello and Welcome!!!

I am super excited to kick off the new linky party at Make It Monday because we have the talented Rick St. Dennis as our sponsor this week. I'm an Alice in Wonderland fan so naturally I chose Alice and Company to create with. This image was so much fun to play with and I found myself adding layers of colors to it with Copic's, Spica atyou markers and glaze pens. If you're wondering what's up with the funky flowers at the top I'll try to explain my thought process. ;) I love Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland with the magnificent Johnny Depp and yes you really need to watch it in 3D. ;)  Well, in the opening scene where Alice enters Wonderland there's amazing and beautiful flowers everywhere. I had this roll of pretty ribbon on my desk and thought how can I incorporate this into my project. A light bulb went off and I decided to roll it into a flower and try to replicate the gorgeous flowers in the movie. Leaf stick pins were used for the leaves because they've gone unused for far too long in my stash. I'm not sure the interpretation came out exactly like the vision in my head but I decided to go with it anyway. Bottom line is I LOVE this image and I'm so grateful to Rick for supplying the design team with fabulous images!

The Squirrel and The Fox #53

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Welcome to the newest challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox. This theme is easy because we all make birthday cards right. ;) My birthday card features a gorgeous image by Sweet and Sassy, our current sponsor, called Birds and Roses.

I have to say this is one of my favorite digital stamps ever. There are so many color variations for the roses but the birds (to me) are bluebirds. I'm a bird lover and I'm fortunate to live in an area where I get the opportunity to see a lot of bluebirds. :) After coloring my image I added lime green stickles to the leaves to give them some shimmer and I die cut the image. The tweet sentiment is from My Favorite Things and it's perfect for this card.

Here's a word from our sponsor...

Prize is winner's choice of 3 digi's!

Top Tip Tuesday #110

LOL!

We have a fun new challenge for you at Top Tip Tuesday and it's Get In Shape. When I see these words it literally means to me - lose weight, exercise, and eat right. I used a sponsor image Mildred-15 Days from Bugaboo Stamps on my card. She's been working hard to improve her self image lately and after coloring her hair she started a diet. Mildred is having about as much luck as I am. Oh, and in case you're wondering why her legs are darker than her skin it's because she's wearing panty hose. ;)

Make It Monday #157

Hello and welcome!

We are welcoming back Milk Coffee  as a sponsor to Make It Monday this week. I love all of their digi's so choosing only one is incredibly hard. Vintage Cuckoo Clock was just to cute to pass up though and it made me think of my DD whose off at college having the time of her life (she loves cuckoo clocks). So far there have only been two distress calls. ;) She's in the midst of putting together a presentation for a course that's due next week and her and her class partner are logging a lot of long hours at the library. I thought a batch of homemade cookies and this card might perk her spirits up. Hope it does the trick!

The Squirrel and The Fox #52

It's Raining Men

Our new challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox is all about the guys so we'd like to see masculine paper creations this time. Our sponsor is the talented Kenny K and he supplied the DT with images to create with. I'm featuring the stylin' Frankie Knuckles on my son's birthday card. Twenty-five years ago on the 23rd of September I began my journey as a mom. It's been great and I'm blessed to have my two peeps in my life. :-) We added another member to our family last year when our son married and guess when his wife's birthday is. The 22nd of September, how cool is that!

Make It Monday #156

Hi everyone!

Time for a new linky party to open at Make It Monday.

Our sponsor for the next week is Saturated Canary and I used Witchy Waitress on my Halloween card. Isn't she a cutie?

I have been swamped by life issues again and I want to take a minute to say how sorry I am for being tardy with commenting here at MIM and to those who have been so kind to leave a comment for me. Every week I think things will slow down and become normal again but no such luck yet. I will be by soon to visit all of your lovely blogs.
