My favorite season...

***Autumn or Spring***

Every spring and autumn we run this challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox and it's time again. It's a popular one and even though we are going into spring here in the US {hopefully} I have to honestly say that autumn is my favorite season. I love the colors and warmth of autumn and I have used them on my art journal page featuring our current sponsors image-Autumn Collage Digital Stamp by Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

A note from Linda-challenge post may be late due to a terrible storm that left her area without power but it will be up as soon as she can post it. Either way you can start your paper project and link up when it goes live.

I used Twinkling H2O's on the free butterfly digi and bits of
washi tape that were distressed with Faber-Castell markers.

I love this postcard image and I'm so grateful to Sweet and Sassy Stamps for sharing it with the DT to use. Check out the other digi's my teamies used on their amazing makes. :)

Just Another Day in Paradise

***ANYTHING GOES***

That's our new challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox and we hope you'll join us. Congrats to our Winner and Top 3 of our Christmas or Hanukkah challenge!

It's finally here, my last DT post for The Squirrel and The Fox of 2013. What a year this has been for me and my family. Frankly, I'm glad it's over and I'm looking forward to a happier year in 2014. I relished creating with this image, Ocean Paradise, by our current sponsor **Sweet and Sassy Stamps**. Watching the sun set over water, whether it's at a beach or the lake I live by, is a favorite pastime for me. I also love watching the moon dance on the water. :-)

I created my sunset hues with Distress Inks by Ranger-squeezed lemonade, dried marigold, wild honey and festive berries. I brought the ink downward to reflect the colors of the sunset on the water and the rest of the image was colored with Copic markers. A wonderful sentiment - Pearls of Wisdom - by My Favorite Things sets the tone for this peaceful card. My inspiration was the crystal water of the Caribbean and the gorgeous beaches I've been lucky enough to visit there. I hear them calling my name...

For more inspiration check out what my teamies created to inspire you by clicking HERE or their links in my right sidebar. I want to take a moment and thank the wonderful ladies on our design team for another great year. It seems this year has been a rough one for a lot of us and having the support of friends helps make the difficult times a little easier. Thank You!!

Also, a big thank you to everyone who has read my blog or left a comment. It means a lot to me and I haven't properly thanked you this year. I've been remiss to visit your blogs in a timely manner and so many other things were pushed back due to what was happening in my life at the time. I do hope you'll forgive me and I promise to be more prompt in 2014 when visiting/commenting. You inspire me so much and I cherish the friendships I've made along my crafty way! I've also missed my first two blogaversary's, can you believe it? That means you guys are due for a blow-out candy this year, maybe even two so be on the lookout. ;)

Have a very Happy New Year's and may God Bless You in 2014!

Hugs,
Lisa xx

Animal Antics

It's all about Animal Antics at The Squirrel and The Fox.

Our sponsor, Sweet and Sassy Stamps, supplied the DT with images to create with and I'm using Santa Owl on my Christmas card. He's a cutie and I had fun putting this card together for someone special.

I used papers from Bo Bunny and Webster's Pages plus several dies. A holly brad with a bow made its way onto this card (its been in my stash for awhile) and you'll find liquid dots all over this card. I'm kind of on a roll to use up a few ;) of the supplies that have been lying around my crafty space. I made a commitment at the beginning of the year to not buy supplies that I did not need and borrowing a few paper packs I've kept it to expendables only. Good thing January 1st is just around the corner because I am ready for some new stuff. ;) Okay, back to my card-Verve Stamps helped me out with the tree die, snowflake stamped images and Merry Christmas sentiment. Spellbinders dies were used to cut all of the circles and the paper roses are by Recollections.

Speaking of animal antics, my DD and I were at the zoo in Nashville today. We enjoyed watching this little guy who was perched on the edge of a barn loft door. He was quite a character and took no notice that his shells were landing in people's hair as they walked out of the barn. ;) For him it was all about a good meal and enjoying the crisp autumn air.

he is way up there, can you see him

here's a better view, he totally blends with the siding of the barn

we saw some barn owls too but no antics for them today ;)

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

The Squirrel and The Fox #53

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Welcome to the newest challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox. This theme is easy because we all make birthday cards right. ;) My birthday card features a gorgeous image by Sweet and Sassy, our current sponsor, called Birds and Roses.

I have to say this is one of my favorite digital stamps ever. There are so many color variations for the roses but the birds (to me) are bluebirds. I'm a bird lover and I'm fortunate to live in an area where I get the opportunity to see a lot of bluebirds. :) After coloring my image I added lime green stickles to the leaves to give them some shimmer and I die cut the image. The tweet sentiment is from My Favorite Things and it's perfect for this card.

Here's a word from our sponsor...
