N for New, O for Old at ABC Christmas Challenge

N is for New, O is for Old

Hard to believe it is July already!
A brand new challenge is up at ABC Christmas Challenge and we are on the letters "N" and "O"

The NEW on my card is the digi image and the sentiment stamp (new to me) from Avery Elle. The OLD is the holly paper which has been in my stash for so long I can't remember. There's a feeling of satisfaction when you cut into a paper that has been around 10+ years...think I am going to do that more often and stop hoarding.

SPONSORS

Prize is a $10 gift certificate to our lucky winner.

Our second sponsor is

https://sweetstampshop.com
They are also offering a $10 gift certificate as well.

Last but not least...Helen is hosting this challenge and she has a prize to offer as well.

Today's card was made using a digi that one of our sponsors provided, Fred She Said, and it's Little Fat Santa Digi. This is such a cute image and it is a great purchase because several options come with the image including a printable sheet of mini-Santa's. I requested the uncolored version however there is a colored version and after looking at my image I wondered why I did not request the colored one. ;) I readily admit that coloring is not my gift but one of these days I plan to sit down and really apply myself to learning to use my Copic's and other markers to their full advantage. Does anyone else struggle with coloring? I'd love to know if you do or if you've found some awesome tips or tricks you'd like to share.

Be sure to visit the challenge blog to see more inspiration using digital images from our sponsor, Fred She Said. Samantha has a handmade crochet project to share that you won't want to miss! Hope your summer (winter for Aussie's) is going better for you than ours is.....too much rain here. ;)

I'll be back Thursday the 6th with a design team project for The Cutting Cafe.

X is for Criss Cross

X is for Criss Cross

Hello everyone!
I'm sharing my design team card for ABC Christmas Challenge today and I'm hosting back to back challenges. There was a bit of confusion about the last challenge so we decided to simplify it and glad we did. There were so many wonderful entries that it was hard to choose the Winner and Top 3. Be sure to check out that post to see if you are one of the lucky ones! As for this challenge all you need to do is criss cross something to create an X. :)

Our sponsor for the 'X' challenge is Fred She Said

Prize is a $10.00 gift certificate to the lucky winner.

This was the easiest card ever and most likely was prompted by the fact that I was trying to pack and get ready to travel for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I used a dimensional chalkboard sticker as the focal point and sentiment of my card and the "Criss Cross" comes in with the silver metallic twine I used to create a big 'X" under the sticker. This is a basic card (4.25" x 5.5") with a white base and red glitter panel on top. I chomped the four corners of glitter panel with We R Memory Keepers stub punch and it went together in less than 5 minutes. Note: I pre-cut solid color bases to A2 size so I always have those ready to go which is a huge time saver. All I had to do is cut and chomp the red panel, add the dimensional sticker, twine and voila!

Be sure to check out the challenge post at ABC Christmas Challenge to view all of the inspiration by the design team. For those of us here in America we'll celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow so I want to wish all of my American friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Hugs,
Lisa

Q is for Quick Layout

Q is for Quick Layout

Our new challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge is up and Wilma's hosting this one. To enter you need to create a Christmas inspired project that's "quick" to put together. It can be a card or scrapbook layout whatever you choose as long as it's Christmas themed.

Prize is a $10 gift certificate.

I chose to use stamps and embossing powders to pull a quick card together. The card base is by The Paper Studio and was part of a 50 pack that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The blue and  silver foil cardstock were in my scrap pile so it was nice to put them to use. I randomly stamped a snowflake in Versamark ink over the blue cs and sprinkled Stampendous White Detail embossing powder over each image. I love seeing the magic of heat embossing happening and I need to use this technique more often.

I did the same for the white banner which I stamped the sentiment on and used Sterling Silver embossing powder this time. A white satin ribbon, gemstones added to the centers of my snowflakes and foam tape to add some dimension complete my card. It all happened in under ten minutes which is quick in my book. :)

For more inspiration visit the main challenge blog and check out the creations by my design team mates. We're looking forward to seeing your creations when we drop by for a visit!

Have a great day, wherever you are.

J is for Jewels

It's my turn to host the new challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge which is

~ J is for Jewels ~

and our SPONSOR is

Photobucket

Prize is a $10 gift certificate to the online store

I added red Kaisercraft gemstones to the sponsor's image I requested - Pine Trees Col Set. I colored the image with various green Prismacolor pencils and used a We R Memory Keepers Stub corner punch on the image panel. I layered the panel on a green bokeh dp and placed it on a base of red Cosmo Cricket cardstock. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps Bright Spirits set and it was stamped in Archival's Vermillion ink.

We're looking forward to seeing your creations and for more inspiration visit the challenge blog to see my design teamies creations.
