N for New, O for Old at ABC Christmas Challenge

N is for New, O is for Old

Hard to believe it is July already!
A brand new challenge is up at ABC Christmas Challenge and we are on the letters "N" and "O"

The NEW on my card is the digi image and the sentiment stamp (new to me) from Avery Elle. The OLD is the holly paper which has been in my stash for so long I can't remember. There's a feeling of satisfaction when you cut into a paper that has been around 10+ years...think I am going to do that more often and stop hoarding.

SPONSORS

Prize is a $10 gift certificate to our lucky winner.

Our second sponsor is

https://sweetstampshop.com
They are also offering a $10 gift certificate as well.

Last but not least...Helen is hosting this challenge and she has a prize to offer as well.

Today's card was made using a digi that one of our sponsors provided, Fred She Said, and it's Little Fat Santa Digi. This is such a cute image and it is a great purchase because several options come with the image including a printable sheet of mini-Santa's. I requested the uncolored version however there is a colored version and after looking at my image I wondered why I did not request the colored one. ;) I readily admit that coloring is not my gift but one of these days I plan to sit down and really apply myself to learning to use my Copic's and other markers to their full advantage. Does anyone else struggle with coloring? I'd love to know if you do or if you've found some awesome tips or tricks you'd like to share.

Be sure to visit the challenge blog to see more inspiration using digital images from our sponsor, Fred She Said. Samantha has a handmade crochet project to share that you won't want to miss! Hope your summer (winter for Aussie's) is going better for you than ours is.....too much rain here. ;)

I'll be back Thursday the 6th with a design team project for The Cutting Cafe.

Lisa xx

Fun with Chevrons

~ CHEVRONS ~

Over at Top Tip Tuesday we are kicking off a new challenge and it's Chevrons. I couldn't resist using this Turkey and Fall Leaves cutting file by Carina Gardner which I picked up at the Silhouette online store. More on my card in minute but first a big thank you to Sweet Stamps for sponsoring this challenge.

Prize is a $10.00 gift certificate.

Deneen has some great tips on the challenge blog on how to keep your paper organized and there's a DT CALL going on as well. If you'd fancy designing for Top Tip Tuesday then check the details out and throw your name in the hat. Good Luck!

It's so hard to believe that Thanksgiving (here in the US) is literally in a few weeks and that trick-or-treaters will be ringing doorbells everywhere this Friday. Where has this year gone? :(

I wanted this card to be CAS (clean and simple) and I couldn't resist using the Turkey and Fall Leaves cutting file because it happened to have this chevron turkey in it. :) I added a fun googly eye and altered some alpha's by Tim Holtz with an Adirondack Lettuce Paint Dabber then glued them on top. I should note that I backed the image with orange cardstock. Finishing touches were added with a wood button, twine, punched photo corners and a MS punched border.
Here's my Tip: If you're having issues with your punch not cutting well use aluminum foil to sharpen it.

Don't forget about our DT CALL going on and be sure to visit my teamies to see how they incorporated chevrons in their projects.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful week!

I Fall for "Fall"

Challenge #113 - Seasons

Congrats to our Winner, Top Tipper and Top 3 of Challenge #112!

Seasons is the new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and I chose fall because it is my favorite season of the year. On my 6x6 card I used an image, Apple Tree and Bear, from Birdie Brown. It's actually a freebie and you can snag it for yourself right here on Torico's blog. On a sad note, she has decided to close Birdie Brown at Etsy the end of November but she'll continue to design for other companies. You can get the details here from Torico.

Card Deets

I used Ranger's Glossy Accents on my apples, a Taylored Expressions die for the wheelbarrow and a pack of Jolee leaf stickers. The sentiment is from Verve's Bountiful Harvest set and the button and twine are from my stash. It's fun to create scenes on cards and Birdie Brown images are some of my personal favorites. Don't forget to stop by the online shop if you like her images and get them before they're gone.

TTT Challenge 103-Masculine

Masculine

We'd like to see masculine cards/projects for the next two weeks at TTT. With Father's Day just around the corner here in the US it is perfect timing to celebrate fathers everywhere. My 3D project was inspired by my hubby's love of boating and I used Captain 02, Sailor Boy and Puppy, and Nautical Icons from our new sponsor Birdie Brown.

Prize is 3 digital stamps of winner's choice.

A big thank you to Birdie Brown for providing the DT with images to create with. :)
