Let's Play Bingo!

Challenge - Pick a Line
at

To play along pick a line and create a project using those items.

I used the second line across-pearls, sentiment and flowers on my card and it was inspired by a card on Pinterest. It was super easy to create. :)

Our sponsor for this challenge is...

and the winner will receive 3 Digital Images of their choice.

I just returned from a wonderful weekend at Donna Downey Studios, in Huntersville, North Carolina, where I took two classes from the talented Finnabair (Anna Dabrowska). I'll be back later in the week to share my class projects and spill on how much fun I had working with her fabulous line of mixed media products.

Hope to see you then!

Cut It Out!

I'm hosting the new challenge over at Top Tip Tuesday and this time we want you to

Cut It Out

as in a die cut, SVG/PDF, template or fussy cut an image for your project.

Here's my Top Tip-
To create a quick and fun card use a die cut as a focal image.

This retro phone die is by My Favorite Things and it's part of a stamp/die set. I used two of the stamps for the sentiment. Stickers from the paper collection, Echo Park's For the Record, finished my sentiment and added decorative touches to my card.
Keeping it simple and using the sticker elements put this card in the "less than ten minutes" category. Perfect for times when you actually do not have a lot of time. ;)

Tammy offers a variety of SVG and PDF designs.

Prize offered to 1 lucky winner is : 2 Shape EZ templates of your choice.

Also, Samantha has extended the DT CALL until the end of this challenge. We are looking for a few crafters who enjoy sharing their tips and tricks. If you'd like to host a challenge you have the opportunity to but there's no pressure to do so. Visit the challenge blog for the details and don't forget to add DT behind your name when you link up.
Good luck to all of the applicants, you will love this DT. :)

Have a terrific day!

All About Animals

This challenge is for animal lovers and Brenda is hosting this one. All you need to do is choose an animal(s) and include it on your project. You'll be in the running for our fabulous sponsor's prize and if you're interested in being a guest designer at TTT leave a tip in your blog post and put TIP behind your name when you link up.

Crafty Sentiments Designs

Prize is winner's choice of 3 free digi's.

I used Suzi Blu's Loved Pets: Bubble Biscuit on this fun birthday card and colored it with Prismacolor pencils. You can see in this close up how I mixed several geometric designs together which leads me to my TIP: Mix geometric patterns using different elements like paper, dry embossing and ribbon. I love the visual interest it adds. The balloons are part of Hero Arts-Be Happy Today stamp set and I fussy cut them. The word Celebrate is part of a subway art stamp - Graphic Greetings Birthday - and I masked it with scotch tape so only this word would appear. Festive Berries Distress Ink adds a touch of color to my sentiment. The chevron dp is by The Paper Studio and the multi-star dp is from Echo Park's Little Boy collection. Kaisercraft red pearls and Ocean Blue liquid pearls by Ranger add the finishing touches.

I rarely show the inside of my cards but I love this birthday sentiment, and the candles, which are also from the Be Happy Today set. That's a Labels 10 Spellbinders die and should note that I used  Classic Circles and Classic Scalloped Circles dies by Spellbinders on the front of my card.

Before I go I have to share who I met yesterday in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
She needs no introduction-

We were eating lunch (at her restaurant located at The Island-a resort, shopping, and dining complex) when all of a sudden everyone started clapping. We couldn't see what was going on and then there she was. She sat down across from where we were sitting and her husband, Michael, joined her a few minutes later. She was so gracious to let everyone take pictures and after she ate lunch she surprised shoppers in the gift shop by appearing in the kitchen area to snap photographs with everyone. She is one of the most down-to-earth people I've ever met.

Here she is signing some tea towels my hubby bought for me. :)

A rare photo for me as I hate having my picture taken but I had to make an exception this time. ;)

By the way, I highly recommend her new restaurant Paula Deen's Family Kitchen in Pigeon Forge.
Good food and plenty of it!!!

Thanks for the visit today, we are headed home and I have thoroughly enjoyed my Mother's Day get-a-way with the hubster and my Bub. I'll be by soon to catch up with all the crafty goodness that I missed while away. :)

Have a wonderful week,
Lisa xx

Strawberries and Cream
Peanut Butter and Jelly

Lock and Key
Black and White
Sticks and Stones
etc.

There are more ideas over on the challenge blog but you get the idea. Be sure to tell us in your blog post exactly what your duo is to be in the running for the sponsor's prize. Speaking of sponsors, we have a brand new one and you'll want to check out my teamies beautiful projects which showcase images by All Dressed Up

Prize is winner's choice of two free digi's from Wendy's Etsy store.

To create my card I used a lot of fun products~Echo Park Hello Summer paper by Lori Whitlock, the cs is by Bazzill and see the text paper...actually it packaging from The Girls Paperie chipboard alpha's I purchased before they closed. :( I also used Spellbinders Captivating Squares to die cut my focal panel and the stamps - Animals in Love~Owls - along with the sentiment stamp - Animal Love Sentiments - are by Taylored Expressions and were colored with Prismacolor pencils. The ruffle ribbon flowers are by Maya Road and they've been in my stash forever. I added touches of black with Kaisercraft pearls, ink and a faux stitched border with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. Finishing touch was to add some red glitter to the hearts using Stickles by Ranger.

That's my card and it's for my hubby. We have an anniversary coming up next month, our 29th, and with all the travel I'll be doing the next three weeks I didn't want to leave it to chance. :)

I hope you'll join us for our Duo challenge at Top Tip Tuesday.

4 You

3 of Something

That's our new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and Samantha is hosting this one. She'd like to see 3 of anything ~ flowers, buttons, brads, perhaps Scrabble Tiles like me. :) My hubby and I love to play Scrabble and I'm always on the lookout for used Scrabble games at our local thrift store so I can rob the tiles from it. That leads me to my Tip which is: Save wood or metal playing game pieces to use on your craft projects. They make unique embellishments!

Here's another tip for you, if your mojo is currently not free flowing (like me) pay Pinterest a visit for inspiration. I found this card by Shari Carroll which I decided to CASE. There are slight differences but I tried to stay as close as possible to her card because I love it.

This was a fun card to put together and I love using the Scrabble Tiles to help spell out my sentiment. A few other crafty notes-I used Kaisercraft's Postmarks stamp to add a bit of interest and a black gelly pen to outline my yellow dp. As an afterthought I decided to hit the circles with a white uniball Signo pen and I'm glad I did. The metal flower was altered with Distress Stains, Cracked Pistachio and Antique Linen (same for the number brad). The leafy flourish is a die by My Favorite Things which I cut in half so it would fit.

This pretty lace stamp is by Finnabair and I die cut another dp from the paper collection using a Fiskars Apron Lace border punch to add more color to my focal panel.

Two punched flowers were added to my red banner (giving me a total of 3 flowers) and I altered Kaisercraft pearls with a Copic marker for the centers. The red banner was outlined with a black gelly pen and finished my card. :)

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is

and the lucky winner will receive a $20.00 gift certificate.

That's a wrap for me today.
Take care,
Lisa xx

Mellow Yellow

I'm sharing an Easter tag that I created for the new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday, which I am hosting by the way. We hope you'll join us for our Mellow Yellow challenge. Use yellow on your project and you're good to go. Need some inspiration, visit the DT's creations by clicking on their links (on my right sidebar) or visit the TTT blog. You'll also want to check out the beautiful inspiration by our Guest Designer and Deneen's fabulous Dresser Side-Step Card tutorial.

Prize is a $12 gift card to the online store.

I've got a few close ups of my tag to share.

As you can see there are many shades of yellow on my upcycled Graphic 45 packaging which I used to create this tag. The butterfly was embossed with Ranger's Ochre Antiquities embossing powder and Buttercup Liquid Pearls add a nice border.

I layered crochet trim with two ribbons and pale yellow seam binding was added to the top of my tag. A pretty My Mind's Eye brad adds a nice floral touch.

That's gathered crepe paper by Glitz behind my focal image and a beautiful butterfly rub on by Bo Bunny was added to the bottom right corner. My sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

It's hard to believe that Easter is this coming Sunday! I don't know how you feel but for me this year has literally flown by. Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you'll join us for our Mellow Yellow challenge.

Lights, Camera, Action

- Use an Action Image -

We have a new challenge for you at Top Tip Tuesday and I love the theme. I took a different approach than using an action image or using a moving part on my DT card though. Rather, I stamped an image that involves action and I couldn't resist using Lights, Camera Action which I spelled out with tiny type alpha stickers. I added a tag and small filmstrip from G45's Communique collection,Tim's Idea-ology filmstrip and mirrored star (which I altered with Ginger Adirondack alcohol ink).

To see some amazing inspiration for this challenge be sure to visit the blogs of my teamies. Their links are on my right sidebar.

Prize is 2 digi's of winner's choice.

I'll be back later today to share another card. See you then!

Happy Birthday!

I have a quick share today, it's a masculine birthday card for my hubby's upcoming birthday. Over at Top Tip Tuesday we are taking a break from using digital images and asking you to use a rubber stamp on your project. I chose stamps from the Birthday Blueprint by Tim Holtz for my card.

I stamped the cupcake image twice on white cardstock, first with mustard seed distress ink then next with forest moss distress ink. I used a blender tool to brush more ink over the image and I also used walnut stain distress ink on the base of my card.

My stamps were inked with Archival's Coffee ink and I used the label die in the package to frame it.

Two Bo Bunny et cetera brads hold my sentiment in place.

One of Tim's remnant rub ons, several were used on this card.

Something New

Waterfall Mini Album

Hello and welcome!
We have a brand new challenge for you over at Top Tip Tuesday and it's

~Something New~

with the wonderful Brenda as our hostess. This is her first time to write the challenge post so be sure to let her know what a fab job she did. :) As the challenge title suggests we want you to use something new from your crafty stash (i.e. a new tool, paper collection, die, embellishment, etc.) and please include what your new item is in your blog post. My new item is the paper collection I used, It's Raining Cats and Dogs by Graphic 45, to create this Waterfall Mini Album for my daughter. Rosie is her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and she is absolutely adorable as you'll see. :)

I found Ginger Ropp's easy to follow tutorial on the G45 blog and only made one exception, I added extra flaps to the waterfall to include more photos.

I used a cardstock stick on the spine from the G45 collection.

Back

The front was adorned with a Petaloo bloom and paper roses.
A cut out from the collection was used for the title and if you
look at the first photo you'll see I used a pull knob from Tim's
Idea-ology line. I backed it with a G45 paper and sticker to
fit in with my theme.

I used alpha's from the collection to spell her name out
and a border from the cardstock sticker sheet.

Inside

Left flap

I tucked these cut outs in the pocket so she could journal on them.

The edges were cropped using a We R Memory Keepers
Scallop/Cloud Corner Chomper. I alternated papers from
the collection and adhered to both sides of the flaps.

Here's my beautiful granddog, Rosie.

Enjoying some sunshine on the deck of her
mom's apartment. Told ya she was adorable!

I love this little face, she is wise and has such soulful eyes.
Honestly, this breed has the best disposition of any dog
we've ever had. We miss having her around so much that
we travel up to our daughter's apartment every other week
or two just to see Rosie and our daughter as well of course. ;)

Yes, she is under the covers and laying her head on the pillow.
She did it all by herself and my DD woke up to find her snoozing
away and snapped this wonderful picture. It was taken this past
December shortly before the Christmas break and she's wearing
her Mrs. Claus dress. Too cute I tell ya!!!

Now I need to make one of these for my son and DIL of my furry grandcat, Felix. We're fortunate to have such smart, beautiful grandbabies. :-)

Before I close I would like to ask each of you to remember our beloved Samantha. Her mother passed away last week after a long battle with her health. Please remember her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. I know it would mean so much to her.
We love you Samantha!

Be back later today with another design project for The Cutting Cafe.
