Fun with Silhouettes at The Cutting Cafe

Hello and Welcome!

I love silhouettes and for our design team post at The Cutting Cafe we played with a printable stamp set...cutting file called Fun with Silhouettes. The one thing Regina asked was that we highlight an area of the silhouette and I obviously chose the icing which for me is the best part. :)

When you purchase this file it is an instant download and it is a huge set (66 images in all) so you have options for every occasion/holiday to work with. I love the flair that a silhouette adds to any card! Don't forget that Regina also has an online store, The Cutting Cafe Shop, where she carries paper crafting supplies, kits, stamps (including custom made) and more.

The DT post goes live later today on The Cutting Cafe blog so be sure to check it out and you'll see more inspiration by Regina and my awesome teamies. If you'd like the opportunity to win 3 FREE SETS from TCC leave a comment and you'll be automatically entered.

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, wherever you are!

Flower Pop Up Cards at The Cutting Cafe

We are celebrating Regina's wonderful collection of Flower Pop Up Cards at The Cutting Cafe. The design team post will go live later today and I can't wait for you to see the amazing creations that my teamies created. I love flowers and tulips have always had a special place in my heart, especially pink ones. ;)

\
I enjoyed playing with watercolor paper and a pretty palette of Daler-Rowney watercolors to create this tulip. I found the watercolor set at Wal-Mart for $4.97 and decided to play with it. I have other sets but this one has all the colors and it slips into my purse easily so I can grab it on the go. If I lose it then I haven't lost a major investment.

There is a set of leaves and grass in the cutting file as well as a stem. Mine were cut free-hand as I misplaced my printouts on my desk. If you could see it you'd know why I gave up looking for them.

I inked the edges with Pickled Raspberry Distress Ink. A white gel pen was used to add dots on the leaves and I created splashes of white dots with a water-based white Sharpie pen.

On the front I added a British doily and a dimensional sentiment sticker from MAMBI.

Check out all of the inspiration at The Cutting Cafe blog to see more Flower Pop Up Card projects. If you leave a comment on the DT post you'll automatically be entered into a drawing to win 3 FREE SETS from TCC.

That's all for today, thanks for the visit!

N for New, O for Old at ABC Christmas Challenge

N is for New, O is for Old

Hard to believe it is July already!
A brand new challenge is up at ABC Christmas Challenge and we are on the letters "N" and "O"

The NEW on my card is the digi image and the sentiment stamp (new to me) from Avery Elle. The OLD is the holly paper which has been in my stash for so long I can't remember. There's a feeling of satisfaction when you cut into a paper that has been around 10+ years...think I am going to do that more often and stop hoarding.

SPONSORS

Prize is a $10 gift certificate to our lucky winner.

Our second sponsor is

https://sweetstampshop.com
They are also offering a $10 gift certificate as well.

Last but not least...Helen is hosting this challenge and she has a prize to offer as well.

Today's card was made using a digi that one of our sponsors provided, Fred She Said, and it's Little Fat Santa Digi. This is such a cute image and it is a great purchase because several options come with the image including a printable sheet of mini-Santa's. I requested the uncolored version however there is a colored version and after looking at my image I wondered why I did not request the colored one. ;) I readily admit that coloring is not my gift but one of these days I plan to sit down and really apply myself to learning to use my Copic's and other markers to their full advantage. Does anyone else struggle with coloring? I'd love to know if you do or if you've found some awesome tips or tricks you'd like to share.

Be sure to visit the challenge blog to see more inspiration using digital images from our sponsor, Fred She Said. Samantha has a handmade crochet project to share that you won't want to miss! Hope your summer (winter for Aussie's) is going better for you than ours is.....too much rain here. ;)

I'll be back Thursday the 6th with a design team project for The Cutting Cafe.

Crafty Hugs,
Lisa xx
