February Tag for 12 Tags of 2015

I'm well after Valentine's Day sharing my February tag but I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to create one via Tim style. :) It's a fusion of things I love rather than the total emphasis being on the day of love itself. I have a little confession though, I mistook this tag for simple cut and paste but it's so much more than that. As I delved into the layers I realize why Tim's style has so many of us enchanted. He goes the extra step without making it too difficult. Minus the sewing for those of us challenged in that area. ;)

I cut up segments from Tim's Wallpaper 12x12 paper stash and added a collage of items that I love-butterflies, flowers, birds, alphabet (love to read), receiving letters/cards. I also added a rub-on hot air balloon and group of birds on a wire. I'm a huge fan of the color red so it pops up throughout my tag and most vividly on the felt die cut heart using Tim's Mini Hearts Movers and Shapers die by Sizzix.

I'm no seamstress but once again Tim got me to break out my sewing machine. Please do not look too closely at it! I wrapped wire around my heart charm after I chose this butterfly that had the word hope on it. I personally do not believe that love or hope can exist without the other. I dabbed Pumice Stone Distress Stain on my lace trim to tone down the ivory color. Thrift Shop ephemera, tissue tape and a mini metal corner finish the elements on my tag.

Note: we were asked to use Picket Fence Distress Stain to add a shabby touch to our tag and a Black Soot Distress Marker to define our collage areas. I went around the edge of my tag with Black Soot Distress Ink and each layer was sealed with Ranger's Multi Matte Medium.

This was a fun tag to create, thanks Tim!

Before I close I'd like to congratulate Mario on becoming a GrandPoppy this week. His granddaughter, Zoey, is precious and if you haven't seen her yet go visit his Facebook page. :) What a wonderful family picture of mom, dad and little Zoey!

I'll be back later today with my entry for the current Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge.
