Jen's Sunshine

Hello everyone! So happy you came back today because I'm sharing this card for my Top Tip Tuesday teamie, Jennifer Scull, who's fighting breast cancer. You can learn more about Jen's journey on her blog at Just Coffee Please...& Stamps, & Ribbons & Paper. Her outlook on life is positive and she is definitely a fighter. However, the medical bills can be overwhelming and to help Jen and her husband with those expenses her teamies at Paper Makeup Stamps created a digi stamp set in her honor called Jen's Sunshine. This is a wonderful set with two images and three word art digis in jpeg & png files. The set was introduced on the Paper Makeup Stamps blog where you can preview all five images and if you fancy the set purchase here. All of the proceeds (100%) go to Jen to help with her medical bills and PMS is also sponsoring a blog hop today in her honor. I missed the sign up date but I did not want to miss the opportunity to let her know how much I support her, and women/men everywhere, in dealing with this disease. If you'd like to show your support too hop on over to Paper Makeup Stamps blog to join in the fun and leave Jen an encouraging message. You can also show your support by purchasing the digi set, Jen's Sunshine, and you'll not only be helping her out but you'll get five terrific digi's to play & create with. That's a win-win in my book!

Many thanks to Jenn Cochran of Party Time Tuesday's for organizing this blog hop and to the Paper Makeup Stamps blog for hosting the week long hop & creating a beautiful digital stamp set for all of us to play with. The community of crafters is a very special one indeed where we see the very best of humanity.

For color inspiration I played along with the CR84FN61 Color Challenge and the wonderful combo of aqua, tan and cream. I love these colors and they were the perfect backdrop to showcase this wonderful word art digi from the set. I'm also playing along with the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge-Ribbon & Bows & Paper Play Challenge-Sentiment as Main Image Focus. I had fun making this card for Jen and it will go off in the mail to her today. Hope she likes it!

Thanks for dropping by and let's remember to cherish every day because it truly is a gift.
Hugs,
Lisa

The Daisy That Became a Chrysanthemum

Hello everyone, I'm dropping by with a birthday card I made for a friend. The CR84FN58 Color Challenge colors of yellow, red and neutral were perfect for this occasion. Red and yellow are my main colors and I brought in cream and a smidgen of brown with the polka dot ribbon. I played with three different versions of this card and settled on this one at 3:45 am this morning. {Sue, I had to get up and just make the card lol} I did a lot of paper cutting, die cutting and border punching but I'm happy with the finished product and I hope my friend will be too. The flower is handmade using MFT's Die-namics Upsy-Daisy and a Paper Flower Video Tutorial by Tracy MacDonald that I viewed on her blog, I Wanna Build a Memory. When you click the link to her blog the tutorial page will pop up and it is the first one on the list, I highly recommend it. I didn't have the same punches she used so I improvised and used this daisy die which ended up looking like a chrysanthemum. Who knew, a two-for-one die. ;) My sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Compact Sentiments and I was inspired to play along with the weekly WMS Sketch Challenge #105 by Teresa Kline. The last challenge I am entering this card in is the Paper Play Challenge-Happy Birthday which is a *new to me* challenge. Here's my card...

Thanks for dropping by today and a very warm welcome to my new followers, so happy to have you! A big thank you to everyone who leaves me sweet and encouraging comments. You have blessed me more than you know!
Hugs,
Lisa xx
