Halloween Mini Album

Front Cover

**Make It Monday #112 post HERE**
**The Squirrel & The Fox post HERE**

If you've popped over from the Top Tip Tuesday blog then I want to thank you for accepting my invitation. I hope you have your fave cup of java or tea because I have a LOT of pictures to share with you. First though, I want to congratulate our winners and thank our hostess, Bettina, for the fab Halloween Coffin tutorial she posted on the TTT blog. My teamies have a terrific lineup for you so please drop by their blogs (on my right sidebar) and check out their inspiration. Quickly, my DT tip is to use recycled items in your crafting and don't throw things away that might be of some use in your crafting like cardboard boxes, produce bags, ziploc bags, etc.. This week the sponsor did not provide images to work with so we were free to make whatever we wanted. I created a Halloween mini album using paper bags for the pages and Pop-Tart boxes for the covers.  I'm a big fan of You Tube and UStream and while browsing videos I found an incredible mini album using paper bags and couldn't wait to create one myself. I'll include the link at the end of the post in the event you like what you see. Hope you enjoy!

Inside front cover and first paper bag page.

Inside front cover with a multi pocket tag & distressed bag
with journaling tag.

Multi pocket tag created from a manila folder, the clear pocket
on the front was made using an acetate dp by Fancy Pants.

Back side of the tag, the MS skeleton hand covers a side loading
pocket tag with a file tab die. I wrote Confidential on the tab
and the hand covers a rather scary looking skeleton printed on
this Pink Paislee dp.

Another PP dp that I cropped and turned into a postcard for journaling.

This page actually folds flat on top of what opens up to
my only tri-fold page. I used a Tattered Angels resist tag, sprayed
with Black Marble Dylusions spray and die cut two frames & attached
fussy cut labels. The fun little strip is from a dp by MME  and a
notebook border punch adds a little pizzazz to my bottom pocket.

My tri-fold page, both the left and right sides have double sided
photo mats. On the left side I also created another pocket for a
tag which you can see below.

I added some ribbon & fiber to the
top along with a lock and owl charm.
The dp is from Authentique's Glowing
and the insert is from G45's Happy Haunting.
It's held in place by an acetate pocket.

These pages are for journaling and there are two photo mats
included on the left side.

On the back side of the middle flap I die cut two
labels and attached the top one with a brad so
it would swivel to reveal...

this fussy cut tag from a dp by Pebbles Tricks
or Treats paper pad.

Another tag created from a manila folder.
The die cut frame is open on the right side
so a photo can be placed in the frame easily
and double sided tape will seal that edge. A
fussy cut tag provides a place to record where
it was taken.

The back side of the manila tag, this dp
is also from the Pebbles paper pad and
it's perfect for journaling.

A handmade tag created from a manila folder.
Every edge in this album was distressed with
distress inks from Ranger and there were a
lot of them. ;) Inking your edges gives your
project a professional look and adds the perfect
finishing touch. The small tag insert is a Tattered
Angels resist tag, it was sprayed with Sunset Orange
Color Spray & Black Soot was applied to the edges.

Super fun page to create, I made a book to journal memories of Halloween
Past and also included two photo mats.

Velcro tabs make it easy to store my book & photo mats while the fold
down feature provides another place to journal on this fun
G45 die cut from the Happy Haunting collection. I added
washi tape and a clock tile by Prima and called it good.

Bubble alpha's and a vintage cardstock image from
G45 adorn my cover.

The two photo mats with pockets. I hand stamped the right one
& added a fussy cut G45 image for the other.
One thing I did throughtout was to coordinate the back of
my photo/journal mats with the papers on the next page
so that nothing clashed.

Another Tattered Angels resist tag that was sprayed with Sunset
Orange Color Spray by Ranger. This side can be used for journaling
and the backside is the perfect place to adhere a photo.

You can see those photo mats peeking out and that they coordinate
with this dp. :) The die cut provides a place for journaling and a
photo can be added underneath.

The inside flap of my paper bag page.
You can tape three sides to create a
pocket but I forgot to do this. :(
Instead I will journal on this one.

I love this dp by Authentique and a die cut label provides
another place for a photo.

A MS spider web punch holds a G45
dp in place on one of the inside flaps.

I used a blank tag to create this tag,
dp's cover it and another one
creates my bottom pocket. I
added these game charms because
my kids love to play chess, cards & dominoes.

A Spellbinders frame gives my menu some pizzazz. I used a white
Glaze pen to write the day's menu out. Die cut spiders & webs,
a yummy cupcake sticker, and a G45 die cut brought this page
together quickly. My dp's are from Authentique's Glowing pad.

I purchased this bat as a set of six for $1.99 and since he's a cling he
adheres perfectly to this acetate pocket by Fancy Pants. I added
a glittery spider from Michael's plus more die cut spiders. A
die cut web was sprayed with spray adhesive and
attached to the music dp, then the pocket was added.

Another cool resist tag by Tattered Angels and a hand stamped
page on the right. Both pages provide a place to journal and add
photos.

Resist tag with photo mat on back.

I love the stamps from Waltzingmouse and Claire has some fabulous
Halloween stamps. This set is Cicely at Halloween and I colored her
with Copic markers. The tab pull was created by punching a 1" circle
and adding a Prima flower bling to the center. This is another of the
manila tags I created and it has two top loading pockets which hold
more photo mats.

The back side featuring another Prima flower bling, acetate
pocket and bottom pocket created with dp.

Fun little photo mat with a MFT File Tab die
to record the date.

The backside of above photo mat.

Photo mat and MFT File Tab die.

The backside and a clear acetate pocket at the bottom.

This fun gate dp is from G45's Happy Haunting. The tags
are from Maya Road and I distressed them with Honey Distress
Ink and stamped two Inkadinkadoo stamp images on them. The
center tag is another Tattered Tags resist tag which I sprayed with
Butterscotch. The small tag is from the Pebbles paper pack.

I created a lift up flap which holds a photo mat and a fun place
to record all of the Halloween costumes worn by my children. The
3D sticker is by K & Company and the calendar is from 7Gypsies.

I distressed & stamped a small white bag which holds
a dp from Pebbles.

The last page and inside back cover, both have pockets. The one
on the left is a library pocket which I distressed, added a fussy cut
tag, washi tape and sticker. The 3D owl sticker is from K & Company
and I added ribbon and a On the Edge die (I used several throughout
this mini) which I embellished with orange goosebumps.

Another multi pocket tag created from a manila folder. The black
cat border is from G45's Happy Haunting and I used dp's from
the Tricks or Treats pad by Pebbles. I mixed several paper
collections together yet everything coordinates. Planning is essential
for everything to mesh but I'll confess that sometimes I just wing it lol.

More dp's from Pebbles and both of these are photo mats. The
one on the left has a pocket and I chomped the corners.

More polka dot washi tape and fun dp's from Pebbles & MME.

Whew, I hope you hung in there and hopefully were inspired along the way. If you liked my paper bag mini album check out Laura Denison's blog, Following The Paper Trail, and click on her You Tube videos to see the variety of mini's she creates with paper bags and envelopes. Laura is uber talented and she's a member of the Graphic 45 design team. Her 3D creations are incredible and I've learned so much from her!

Holy Halloween Batman! L1, my eyeballs are spinning trying to take it ALL in. Page after page after page of incredible detail, most amazingly, the tiniest of details you added. All those ghoulishly lavish papers and the charms and images and inking..my gosh!!! My OCD wants so badly to keep track of it all, but I can't figure out how many pages are in here. No matter, it's beyond fantastic what you've created here. A truly timeless keepsake for Halloweens past. I'll put my vote in...I LOVE IT!!!!
It's been decided. I'm packing my bags and moving in. I want to craft with you! Besides, Margaret and my adoption papers should be ready by now anyway...LOL!
Huge hugs,
L2 xxx
