Make It Monday #112

**click here for my The Squirrel and The Fox DT post**

It's time for another linky party to begin at Make It Monday and we do hope you'll join in the fun. The gallery was full of wonderful projects this past week and I can't wait to share my Pick of the Week with you. First though, I'd like to congratulate our winners for MIM #111 and encourage you to leave a comment on the other entries this week giving you a second chance at winning a prize. Good Luck!

There were no sponsor images to work with so Michelle gave us permission to use whatever we wanted and I've used stamps by Verve and Waltzingmouse Stamps on my pocket card. To create this fun card I used a paper cutter and trimmed a cardstock sheet to 5.25"x11", placed my long edge horizontal on my Scor-Pal and scored 5.5" inches from the left edge. Next I scored a horizontal line a .5" above the top edge and a .5" above the bottom edge. Run your bone folder over scored lines and fold in toward the center and place double-sided tape on the flaps. Again run your bone folder over the score line at 5.5" and place double-sided tape on the left side then peel the backing from the tape and adhere the flaps while running your finger along the taped bottom to seal. Now you've got a pocket card that was super easy to create. Decorate the front of the card using patterned paper and the width of my panels are 4.75" wide by 2"high, I used a coordinating paper for the middle section and it also gave me a place to stamp my sentiment "It's your day" and add visual interest. Two die cut circles create a place for my butterfly stamp & coordinating die by Verve to land while the fun dot border was created with a WMS Faux Fun Circles stamp. The butterfly was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copic markers. I added a trio of Kaisercraft brown pearls to my corners and my front was finished. Next up is my inside panel and here's a picture of it below.

Again I used the same paper but reversed the top & bottom panels, the middle section is Choice Buttercream by Taylored Expressions and I stamped "celebrate" by WMS in Memento Rich Cocoa. As you can see my cardstock base is blue and I pulled the color from the dp's I used. The measurement of my cs base is 4.75" wide by 5" high. I made the tab with a 1" circle punch from Fiskars and adhered to the back of my base. (It helps to place the panel inside your pocket, line it up and then adhere your tab so it will be centered perfectly. ;) The orientation of your patterned paper can be varied and suited to your tastes depending on your sentiment inside.

Now for my Pick of the Week which is #127 Karen G who created this ornament that can also be used as a wall hanging. The Graphic 45 patterned paper blends so well with her colored image and I love the netting behind it. A die cut music strip and all of the embellishments make this an all time favorite of mine. To view a full shot of this wonderful project click on her link above. I love this Karen!

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa, the colors of your card are a dream. These paper combinations are completely rich and eclectic in their own right, but together, my gosh...stunning to look at! I love the design arrangement and your inside panel is just as gorgeous. Weird that the one thing my eye is really drawn to is the little tag by "It's your day"...I LOVE that!
Your POTW...are you kidding me? That's amazing!!
I hope you have a good week too. Will catch up and see how the weekend went for you :)
hugs,

Hi Lisa,
Gorgeous paper combo on your wonderful card. The butterfly is beautiful. Love the dot stamp! I seem to be drawn to that little tab too, trying to work out whether it's just stuck there or poking out through a slot?
Fabulous POTW, love that bit of music and the rosette.
Hugs, Sandy
