Love you to the Core!

Hello again :-)
This has been a busy week here at Adventures in Paperland with 3 posts! Each one has been a design team project and my card today is for The Cutting Cafe. We're featuring templates and cutting files with a back to school theme since it's that time of year.

Our daughter begins her senior year of college next week and I wanted to make a card for her. It expresses how much we love her and it also brings us back to the very beginning. You'll see the inside in a minute but first let me share that I used the template from the Apple Shaped Card Template...Cutting File on the front. After cutting it out with my Silhouette I brushed on a heavy coat of Deco Art's Decoupage Glue and set it aside to dry. Next I added shading with a Faber-Castell Pitt Brush marker and inked the edges with black soot Distress Ink by Ranger. The leaves were cut from green cardstock and I went over each one with mowed lawn Distress Ink (for a deeper color) and inked the edges with black soot Distress Ink. After I shaped my leaves I glued them in place and added a sparkly green button with a red twine bow. I came across a stamp set, two actually, that I'd never inked up before so I grabbed them and stamped two hearts on dp's from Graphic 45's ABC Primer collection. I fussy cut each one and added them to the front of my apple template. Some faux stitching and gemstones add the finishing touches to the hearts. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of dp and hand cut a banner then inked the edges with black soot.

Here's the inside, well like I said it brought us back to the beginning...where it all started. I was there her first day of kindergarten because I was her teacher. I began homeschooling my son in 5th grade and she was homeschooled K-12. One of the things I am most proud of is teaching her to read and write. Books opened her world and she loved them immediately...now her penmanship...well that's another story lol.

To see all of the inspiration by the design team, featuring the sets above, visit TCC's blog on Sunday, August 21st. I have some very creative teamies so you'll enjoy the variety of back to school projects!

I'll be back with my second project featuring the custom stamp set - Mixin' Up Memories - now available at The Cutting Cafe Shop next week. If you'd like to have your own custom stamp set made then check out the details and you can find Regina's contact info there as well.

Thanks for the visit today, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
