Sweet cards and a Sweet Surprise

Hi everyone! 

I have two sweet cards to share today that feature one of my favorite quotes by Julia Child. Regina Easter, owner of The Cutting Cafe Shop, designed a custom stamp set for me - Mixin' Up Memories. It's full of baking images, sentiments and this quote plus it also comes with a cutting file for the baking images. September and October are full of "birth"days in our family and we just had a very special "birth"day recently. Our grandson, Tristan Asher, arrived on September 10th at 10:53 pm. He was due on the 13th but like his dad he made an early appearance. When we got the call he was on the way we dropped everything and headed to the hospital. Needless to say we're all smitten with this little one and I am now an official member of the "Mimi" club. So excited!!!

There aren't words that can express how I feel in this picture.

While I could go on and on about this new little bundle of joy I better get back to sharing my cards. I created them super fast by using Hero Arts card bases, a chocolat collage sheet and the Mixin' Up Memories stamp set. Here's a close up of the above card.

Julia was right, "A party without cake is just a meeting."

Here's my second card using the same quote and another image from the collage sheet.

I love the sweet images from this collage sheet but I'm afraid it has been retired. However if you like these you may also like some that are similar, which you can find here. I added small gemstones and pink organza ribbon to both cards as finishing touches. 

After stamping the quote twice in Sepia Archival ink I hand cut two banners and added one to each card. I love these sweet cards and they were a breeze to create.

Baked with Love

Hello!

I'm back with my second project featuring the Mixin' Up Memories acrylic stamp set from The Cutting Cafe Shop. Last week the design team from The Cutting Cafe showcased back to school projects featuring apples or pencils and I shared a card using the Apple Shaped Card Template - Cutting File. (You can scroll down to the previous post to see that card). For today's card I used the apple template once again and two stamps from from the acrylic stamp set - the pie and Lovin' from my oven sentiment. The apple pie recipe card is ephemera from Graphic 45's Home Sweet Home collection and I also used a patterned dp for my background to make the apple pop.

This fall I'll present this card to my darling daughter with a freshly baked apple pie. She'll be a happy camper as it's one of her fave desserts and you deserve to have your fave dessert on your birthday. :)

Mixin' Up Memories

Hi everyone!

I'm back in blogosphere again after an unwanted break due to a nasty norovirus infection that had me down the past week or so. Thankfully this week has started off on a much better note and I can finally share this sweet little cookbook I made for my daughter recently. It features a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe and my custom stamp set that Regina Easter, owner/designer, of TCC designed for me called Mixin' Up Memories. I love it and this is the first of four posts where I'll be sharing designs and sentiments from this set. Later in the post I'll include the link where you can get more info on how to order your own custom stamp if you'd like. I love how recipes unite you with those you love so I definitely wanted the phrase Mixin' up Memories in the set. I also included one of my favorite quotes by Julia Child and you'll see that project next week! My daughter is about to start her senior year of college (where did the time go?) and it has me feeling very sentimental these days. I thought it might be nice to give her a holiday cookbook with cookie recipes from family members. The Gingerbread Boy - Girl Template....Cutting File from The Cutting Cafe provided a perfect base once I supersized it. 

Each page was decorated with a different designer paper (dp) and I added red ric rac ribbon on the arms and legs. The recipe card is held in place with a tiny clothes pin so it can easily be removed to see the baking instructions on the back. I stamped the cookie image and a sentiment - Mixin' Up Memories - on the bottom in Sepia and Vermillion Archival ink. As you can see I forgot to color the cookies lol so I'll go back and do that before I give it to my daughter. 

Regina provides cut outs to create your boy or girl but I decided to go with dimensional elements for fun. At the bottom I stamped another sentiment from the set - Family Recipes - in Vermillion Archival ink and placed it in a metal label frame, the brown cardstock on the back will hide the back of my brads. 

I gotta go back and color in those cookies, it's buggin' me.

Another page in my cookbook, it was bound together with a Graphic 45 Binder Ring. I love that she can fold one page behind the other so the cookbook will prop up for easy viewing.
