It's time for another fun challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and this time our lovely hostess is Annette. She'd like to see "Things with Wings" and if you'll drop by the TTT blog you can see the wonderful tutorial she created on how to create clouds. Be sure to check it out (it's awesome) and her pretty card as well. You can view all of my teamie's inspiration by visiting the TTT blog or clicking their links on my right sidebar. As for the challenge theme it can be anything with wings (i.e. dragonflies, bees, bats, birds, planes, butterflies, pesky flies, moths, ladybug, fairy, dragon, etc.) and if you choose to leave a tip please put TIP by your name when you link up. You can enter up to 3 projects and 3 tips so good luck everyone and congratulations to our current winners! Here's my Top Tip which I used on this card-if your stamped image needs to be a little larger simply outline with a pen/sharpie and color in with a dark color. No one will ever know unless you tell them, so don't. ;)
Robyn's Fetish supplied the design team with images to create with and we're very appreciative. I loved the BOO Word Art and there are so many ways to use this fun image. I promised to share a tip about word art and here it is: cut your letters out & mat for a bolder presentation. They visually stand out and it allows you to change the orientation making the image more versatile. I also have an enabler alert to share if you are a fan of Robyn's Fetish - they are having an Autumn Sale with 35% off all inventory through October 31st. :) On to my card, I printed the image on Choice Snow White paper, cut the letters, colored with Copic markers, embellished with purple stickles and matted to black cardstock. I followed along with the sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday #174 for inspiration and it only occurred to me as I looked at my finished card that there wasn't one thing in sight with a wing on it. Seriously, are you kidding me? LOL A few stamped & fussy cut bats fixed my predicament though. :) I think if my head wasn't attached I'd be in real trouble these days. :( The papers I used are from a fun little Halloween pack by Pebbles called Tricks and Treats and three Bazzill buttons with twine help me stay on track with my sketch. Taylored Expression's Frightful Night stamp set supplied me with my sentiment and the flying bat stamp from the Fright Night Favors set. I used a banner from the Easy Rosette 017 by The Cat's Pajamas to place my sentiment on and it was stamped in Dusty Concord Distress Ink and the edges were outlined with Black Soot Distress Ink by Ranger. My black metallic ribbon is from American Crafts and was also a sketch requirement. I love making 6x6 cards because there's so much real estate space, as they say, to work with.
